Harm Reduction Support Group

Welcome to our Harm Reduction Support Group! Join our meetings for a safe place to share your story, get advice on harm reduction from peers who understand, and learn coping mechanisms for emotional distress.

Harm reduction is a compassionate and pragmatic approach to addressing substance use that emphasizes the importance of minimizing the negative consequences associated with drug use and other behaviours rather than insisting on complete abstinence; it recognizes that many individuals may continue to engage in these behaviours, and instead of stigmatizing them, it seeks to provide strategies and resources that promote safety and well-being. By focusing on realistic and attainable goals, such as safer usage practices, harm reduction aims to empower individuals to make informed choices that enhance their quality of life and promote healthier lifestyles.

We recognise that a lot of the times, people are using substances to cope with emotional pain and trauma. And usually, drugs aren't the only thing we're doing to escape the pain. These meetings are for EVERYONE, no matter what you are struggling with. The same principles that can make substance use safer can be applied to self harm, eating disorders, and so many more things. We see that you are in pain, and we want to help. These meetings are a place to share anything you need. Come as you are, and we will do our best to help you.

Sharing is optional, and you can talk out loud or use the chat. Cameras are also optional.

Please note, meetings are for those ages 16+
